Our story
Mustard Seed café is brought to you by Katy Chalmers, a lifelong artist and chef who comes from a family of famous artists, including her very own father, Mike Wald, who can often be seen painting in the café.
Katy's gentle, loving nature makes her a natural art teacher, which she has done for many years at private schools in Johannesburg before moving down to Yzerfontein. She cooks with love, and teaches the same way, which makes for an unforgettable experience.
Katy is joined by Angelique Chalmers, our daughter, who is faithfully carrying on the family tradition of art and love. Angie is a delight - already well known to most in Yzerfontein through her efforts in local stores over the past year - and she is the warm, energetic hostess who welcomes everyone.
Construction Starts
We'll be busy with floors, electrics and building of pizza ovens and kitchens during the month of August. Pictures to follow.
